STEAMTRAIN MUSEUM
Travel like in the old days...
After the conductor has blown his whistle, the coal-powered train drives back and forth along the Valkenburgsemeer.
At the Katwijk Leiden steam train it seems as if time has stood still. You enter a real station building and walk to the ticket office where you buy an old-fashioned train ticket.
The almost 100-year-old steam locomotive is already waiting for you on the platform and takes you for a ride along the Valkenburg lake. Then you will be taken by train to the indoor museum where historic carriages, the steam and diesel locomotives are located.
There is a lot to see and do, both inside and outside with a model railway where you can set the model trains in motion by yourself.
